Oak Magnablock 250mm The original and still the best - this unique, hygienic, slot free magnetic knife block helps to keep your knives sharper for longer. Known as the Magnabloc, it is made from solid (sustainably sourced) Oak wood. It’s easy to use, easy to clean (no un-hygenic slots you can't clean!) and allows you to select your knives with ease thanks to their full visibility. Probably the best magnetic knife block in the world! Yes we know it's not cheap but you get what you pay for - do you know hard it is to magnetize wood(??) Seriously this lump of oak has some major magnets inside it - 2 whopping ones per knife location so that's 20 in total!! They are large 'rare earth' neodymium magnets and that's essentially what your paying for! Looks simple but there's a lot of high end technology in there to make it happen. You should also note there is a technique to using this block and you slide the knives on and off to remove them from the block (like you would removing them from a slot) - that way the magnetic force is broken gently. You'd pick up the action in about two goes and then you have a fantastic and unique storage block that not only is kind to your blades but shows them off fantastically and will be a talking point in your kitchen.
