An important piece of equipment of the Devil's Brigade was the specially designed V-42 combat knife which was also part of the intensive close combat training. The handle of compressed leather discs ends in a pointed impact cap. A thick leather padding underneath the slightly curved pommel had to prevent injuries. The two-edged blade 178 mm made of the non-stainless carbon steel SK-85 is coated and features a corrugated thumb rest around the area of the Ricasso. To this day the crest of the Special Forces of the US Army adorns this legendary dagger. Overall 304 mm. Weight 196 g. The dagger comes with classic leather sheath, but also with a replica of the cloth insignia of the unit which is the red spearhead and with a reproduction of the original German sticker with the text "The worst is yet to come!". Additionally, it shows the 1st SSF label that used to be stuck on walls, cars, doors etc. behind enemy lines in order to demoralize the enemy. But it is crafted to be double edged as opposed to conventional single-edged ones, making it suitable for cutting any type of food by bringing the blade straight down onto the item. As the pointed part of the blade is modeled after a sword, it is also suitable for preparing dishes that involve techniques requiring the use of the tip, such as decorative cutting.The Zuiun is a special model manufactured to celebrate the company's centennial. Seki Kanetsugu Zuiun knives have blades with a wavy “hamon” pattern similar to Japanese swords. Suehiro combination sharpening stone #1000/6000 can be used to sharpen all kind of knives, made of any type of steel, Japanese or not. This is a medium-hard stone, meaning it will quickly create a slurry during sharpening. Slurry is this paste-like, fresh "compound", full of abrasive grains, produced on the surface of the stones once we start sharpening. It will help us sharpen our knives faster. #1000 grit is a most common, general sharpening granulation (to put a new edge on a blunt knife), while #6000 grit is a fine granulation for the finishing edge and the final polish of the blade.  Comes with nagura and thin rubber base.
