Wood Jewel survival kit includes fire stick and can/bottle opener. Both items have curly birch handle with leather lace. Comes in a cellophane bag with instructions for use. All Wood Jewel products and knives are manufactured in the Lapland town of Kolari.

Wood Jewel has found in the beginning of 80`s. Owner and CEO Kauko Raatiniemi started beside of main job. He made at first big items like clocks from goat willow gnarl. Beginning of 90`s Kauko started full.time entrepreneur. First worker came 1995 and today company employs about 20 workers around the year. Main materials are Finnish curly birch, reindeer horn and colored polywood. Wood Jewel has over 1000 different kind of items. But knives are the main product. End of 80`s Kauko made his first knives. Some collector bought all the knives. Beginning of 2000 Kauko`s son Tuomas Raatiniemi started to make knives again. Today Wood Jewel makes about 50 000 knives/year. They pay attention to material of blade, shape of handle and how the knife fit in sheath. Due to the fact that the knives are hand crafted, knives may have differ from the one shown in the photo.
