L'azienda Schrade vanta una ricca storia, che risale al 1892, quando George Schrade, un inventore inglese, fondò la Schrade Cutlery Company a New York. Schrade si fuse presto con Walden e iniziò a produrre il suo primo coltello brevettato e rivoluzionario con sgancio automatico della lama a pulsante: lo Switchblade.

Nel corso della sua lunga storia, Schrade ha prodotto coltelli pieghevoli e a lama fissa, tra cui le iconiche linee Old Timer e Unche Henry.
