Ontario RAT- 1 folder 8849CB from Randall's Adventure Training is a folding EDC knife that can withstand hard use and abuse associated with tactical or survival tasks. For the money, there might not be a better knife on that market that can match the performance of the RAT Model 1. It features an ergonomic coyote brown handle with smooth action and rock-solid lockup. The four-position pocket clip allows the user to customize their carry method to their liking. The knife has a off-set satin combo blade from the handle, which creates a unique look and distinguishes it from all the rest. The blade is serrated partly. Whether you need to add a new knife to your EDC rotation (or you think it would make a great fit for a survivalist, serviceman or woman, or a true friend), rest assured you're making the right choice when you go with an Ontario RAT Model 1.

Ontario Knife Company (OKC) is one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States. Founded in 1889 in Naples, New York, the company got its name from Ontario County. In the early 20th century, production was moved to Franklinville, where OKC was located for over 100 years.

Ontario Knife Company is especially popular for its line of fixed blade knives, many of which were developed for the military and law enforcement agencies. Among them are the legendary Air Force Survival Knife and M9 Bayonet. Also very popular is the Ontario Spec Plus (SP) series of knives - knives created for tactical use and survival. The SP series features durable 1075 carbon steel blades, ergonomic handles, reliable sheaths and a low price. Popular models include the SP1 Marine, SP5 Survival Bowie and SP10 Raider Bowie.

In the EDC (everyday carry) folding knife segment, Ontario Knife Company is especially famous for its RAT series, developed in collaboration with Randall’s Adventure & Training. The RAT-1 and RAT-2 models have gained recognition around the world for their reliability, simplicity, and sharpness at a more than affordable price. RAT knives are made from AUS-8 or D2 steel.

In addition, Ontario Knife Company produces machetes, axes, kitchen knives (including the iconic Old Hickory series), and rescue tools.

In August 2023, OKC was acquired by Blue Ridge Knives, after which it was announced that the historic Franklinville plant would close. Despite this, many key models continue to be produced and available on the market. Please note that the company logo has slightly changed on some models.
