Opinel

Opinel è un leggendario produttore francese di coltelli con oltre 130 anni di storia. L’azienda è stata fondata nel 1890 in Savoia, Francia. Il suo creatore, Joseph Opinel, ha progettato un coltello pieghevole semplice e affidabile, rimasto quasi invariato fino ad oggi. Una tappa fondamentale nell’evoluzione del coltello Opinel fu l’invenzione nel 1955 del sistema di sicurezza Virobloc da parte del figlio del fondatore, Marcel Opinel. Il principale vantaggio dei coltelli Opinel è la combinazione di semplicità e funzionalità. La maggior parte della gamma è ancora costituita da coltelli tascabili. Un coltello pieghevole Opinel è composto da soli cinque elementi: lama, manico, perno, rivetto e anello di blocco Virobloc. Il marchio utilizza due tipi principali di acciaio: inox e ad alto tenore di carbonio. Tutti i coltelli hanno il classico manico in faggio, ma alcuni modelli utilizzano anche altri tipi di legno o materiali moderni. I coltelli pieghevoli Opinel sono numerati: i modelli n. 2–n. 5 sono coltelli molto piccoli da portare sulle chiavi o come portachiavi. I modelli n. 6, n. 7 e n. 8 sono classici per l’uso quotidiano (EDC), con il n. 8 come coltello Opinel più popolare e riconoscibile.

Oltre ai coltelli pieghevoli, Opinel produce coltelli da cucina e coltelli pieghevoli per attività outdoor con fischietto e manici colorati. I coltelli Opinel per bambini sono anche molto popolari. La linea “Le Petit Chef” include un coltello da cucina per bambini con anello speciale sul manico, un pelaverdure e protezioni per le dita colorate. Sono inoltre disponibili coltelli pieghevoli per bambini con punta arrotondata e manici colorati: “My First Opinel” e “Outdoor Junior”.
