La micarta es un plástico laminado a base de tela o papel y un aglutinante polimérico (resina sintética). Tras prensarlo a alta presión y temperatura, se obtiene un material resistente, fiable y duradero, ideal para mangos de cuchillos.

Ventajas de la micarta para mangos de cuchillos:

- Alta resistencia y desgaste. La micarta es resistente a impactos, arañazos y otros daños mecánicos.

- Resistencia a la humedad. No absorbe agua, no se hincha ni resbala, incluso en condiciones de humedad.
