Ikeda-san est né en 1986. Depuis 2007, il étudie aux côtés de son oncle, Anryu-san, dans le légendaire village des couteliers de Takefu. En janvier 2021, Anryu-san a passé les rênes de la forge Anryu-hamono à son neveu Ikeda-san. Pendant de nombreuses années, Ikeda-san a forgé la plupart des couteaux Anryu, mais maintenant il dirige lui-même l'entreprise vers l'avenir. Ikeda-san utilise un four à coke, comme son maître Anryu-san lui a appris, et aime fabriquer des lames en acier damas. Pour les forgerons, c'est un moyen unique de mettre en valeur leurs compétences et leur talent.
