La plus grande partie des couteaux pliants Spyderco possède un trou d'ouverture sur la lame. Les matériaux de poignée les plus couramment utilisés sont le FRN et le G10. Spyderco Tropen folder C237GP is designed by Javier Vogt, who is is one of the few custom knifemakers in Argentina and one of only a handful of craftsmen there to make folding knives. Javier Vogt now specializes in handcrafting intricate, artistic folding knife designs and often incorporates exotic materials into his work.
The most distinctive feature of the Tropen is its broad, dramatically curved blade 4.02". Precision machined from CPM S30V stainless steel, it includes three different blade-opening options—an index-finger flipper, Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole, and a stylized Emerson Opening Feature, which hooks on the lip of the pocket as the knife is drawn to automatically open it. Together, these features allow a full scope of one-handed opening techniques and are further enhanced by special ball-bearing washers on each side of the blade's pivot that ensure an ultra-smooth, low-friction action.
The Tropen's satin-finished PlainEdge blade is paired with an elegantly styled handle crafted with G10 scales, a partial G10 backspacer, and skeletonized stainless steel liners. The polished scales are gently radiused for a comfortable grip and their interiors precision machined to house the nested liners, which form the foundation of the knife's high-strength Compression Lock mechanism. This advanced construction style ensures impressive structural strength while keeping the knife exceptionally thin, lightweight, and pocket-friendly. In 1990 Spyderco shook things up by introducing two knives, the Delica and Endura. First of their kind on the market, both folders opened up the knife market to lightweight performance, one-hand open pocketknives that just about everyone could afford. They settled as Spyderco's top two bestsellers and their improvement hasn't slowed since.
Refinement has been so ongoing and continual Spyderco tagged the updating/upgrading process with the term CQI- Constant Quality Improvement. During the Endura and Delica's CQI journey Spyderco tweaked ergonomics, refined blade steels and fine-tuned their performance countless times. They are an evolutionary work in progress and the next level is here with the new Endura4 and Delica4. Both models now have screw construction making cleaning and adjusting easier.
The fiberglass reinforced nylon handles come molded with Bi-Directional Texturing for preferred traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle dual skeletonized stainless steel liners make the knife stronger without adding weight and make an anchor for all external and internal components to attach through adding sturdiness and rigidity.

Spyderco's C91 Pacific Salt is designed to offer reliable high performance with a never-rust H-1 steel blade. Now it's available with a black coated blade, lessening the steel's reflective qualities and subduing the blade's presence. Spyderco's Salt Series shines in fresh and saltwater staying rust-free even if put away wet. Hollow-ground, the H-1 blade is PlainEdged and coated in long-lasting black carbonitride. It's similar in shape and size to Spyderco's bestselling Endura model but with more rounded tip. All internal steel parts are treated as well making them impervious to rust and pitting. The blade's hole is enlarged to 14mm for easier opening/closing with gloved, wet or cold hands. Textured in a Volcano Grip pattern, the black fiberglass handle has a grippy texture and is fitted with a black Titanium pocket clip that reverses position for both left and right-handers.
