La paracorde 425 est une option intermédiaire entre la paracorde classique 550 et les cordelettes plus légères comme la 275 ou la 95. Elle peut supporter une charge allant jusqu'à 425 livres (environ 193 kg) et présente un diamètre d'environ 3,5 mm. Elle est généralement composée de 3 à 5 fils de nylon internes recouverts d'une tresse dense. Chaque fil peut être utilisé séparément.
