Hand and a Half Sword 92BKHNH is a very good practice sword from Cold Steel. Martial Artists have known a simple truth for ages. If your ultimate goal is to wield a sharp blade safely and effectively, you need to supplement your training with a tool that approximates the size, feel and heft of a blade, yet minimizes the possibility of causing grievous, permanent injury to yourself or your training partner. This concept was implemented by many cultures, including the ancient Romans, who used wooden swords to train their Gladiators. The only problem was that wooden training tools can rot, crack, chip or splinter and could not be used in all weather conditions. Cold Steels solution to these dilemmas was to design a line of synthetic polymer substitutes. Low in cost and unaffected by all but the most extreme temperatures, they are waterproof, weatherproof and astonishingly durable. Sword is 44" (112 cm) overall with 34" (86,4 cm) blade.

Like the original, the Trainer is supplied with skeletonised stainless steel handle halves with a matt beadblast finish. Also known as the Butterfly knife, the Balisong owes its name to the simple folding mechanism of the split handle, which is much less susceptible to dirt than other mechanisms. The ball-bearing clippoint blade of the Trainer is made of 420 steel and is supplied with a matte stonewash finish as well. The dummy, slightly rounded at the edges, has generous recesses for direct differentiation from sharpened blades and to match the weight of the original Balisong. The pronounced ricasso underlines the tactical character of the training tool. Supplied with a high-quality nylon case for storage.
