La coutellerie Fox a été fondée par Frati Oreste en 1977 à Magnago, en Italie. Le couteau Fox SURU a été conçu par le célèbre designer Jesper Voxnæs. Cette version est dotée d'une lame en acier M398, une version modernisée de l'acier M390, qui se distingue par sa teneur accrue en carbone et en vanadium, lui conférant une résistance à l'usure exceptionnelle. Le manche est composé de plaquettes en acétate de cellulose. La cellulose est un polymère naturel qui constitue la base de la structure de tous les végétaux. L'acétate de cellulose est produit par la réaction de la cellulose avec l'anhydride acétique. Ce matériau allie des propriétés physiques et mécaniques élevées à un caractère écologique. Le Fox SURU a été largement plébiscité par les amateurs de couteaux EDC et a reçu le prestigieux prix du Couteau de l'Année 2018 au Blade Show.
