Le couteau tactique de haute qualité Cold Steel Recon Tanto OD 49LRTODBK a été conçu pour les combattants modernes. Son manche est en Kray-Ex. La lame tanto est en acier au carbone SK-5, l'équivalent japonais de l'acier américain 1080 : un acier à haute teneur en carbone (0,75 % à 0,85 % de carbone et 0,60 % à 0,90 % de manganèse). Après trempe, sa dureté est proche de 65 HRC et il présente une structure composée de martensite riche en carbone et de quelques petits carbures non dissous. Cet excès de carbures accroît la résistance à l'abrasion et confère à l'acier un équilibre idéal entre une excellente robustesse et un tranchant exceptionnel. La pointe Tanto, signature de Cold Steel, est spécialement renforcée pour conserver son tranchant même au contact des gilets pare-balles modernes. Ce modèle est équipé d'un trou pour dragonne et est fourni avec un étui de ceinture Secure-Ex de haute qualité.

Both are made from D2 steel and finished with a rich Tuff-Ex&trage; non reflective coating: •The Leatherneck-SF (for Semper-Fi) has a saber ground clip point blade. It's hollow ground and honed by hand to a startling razor sharpness. •The Leatherneck-Tanto features a Cold Steel style Tanto blade. It's incredibly sharp blade is 7" long and hollow ground by hand.
