The blade was designed following Andrew Demko's extensive testing and experimentation as a journeyman electrician and engineer. When making his own multi-purpose handmade work knives, he made his own karambit/hawkbill hybrid blade that could cut rope, cable, wire and anything else his vocation threw in his path.
Replicating Andrew's original blade design but in premium S35VN stainless steel, the Tiger Claw offers the tactical cutting and slashing performance of the Filipino and Indonesian fighting karambit with the utility and function of a working man's hawkbill.

In South Africa, an inexpensive ring lock folder is sold everywhere. It's a good design, but it's constructed from sub-standard materials, is poorly made, and is horribly overpriced. And yet, millions of these knives are sold there each year. Well, we thought we could do better, in the quality of materials, cutting performance, and in price. The Cold Steel Kudu, takes some cues from its South African competition, but our version is vastly superior. Ours has a German 4116 Stainless steel flat ground blade, heat treated to Rc 56-57 for better edge holding ability and ease of re-sharpening, and a thin razor sharp edge. For safety, we have thoroughly tested the locking mechanism and are well satisfied it will hold the blade rigidly open until you decide to close it by pulling up on the ring attached to the back spring. The handle of the Kudu also reflects our dedication to making an effective and affordable folder. It's made of 43% glass reinforced Zy-Ex®. This material has proven to be extremely strong, and is stiff enough to complement the blade and spring when locked open. Plus, the gripping surface has a wood grain texture for traction and features an attractive polished steel Kudu horn emblem for a little extra flair! We think the Kudu represents an unbelievable value. It’s ready for anything and makes a wonderful work knife, utility knife, bait knife, or hunting knife.

Cold Steel Japanese Training Swords are closely modeled after the world-famous Warrior series swords. Featuring an intricately detailed imitation cord wrap grip - molded in high impact polypropylene - they offer superior grip and comfort as well as more realistic training potential for the modern Martial Artist. Hundreds of years ago, the Japanese discovered a simple truth; that to become a good swordsman you'll have to practice, a great deal. To become a great swordsman you'll have to practice with a "live blade". And during the period between "good" and "great", you should spend your time building your skills and confidence enough to wield a razor sharp Katana safely and effectively. To accomplish this, the Japanese relied on a simple wooden sword called a "bokken" for much of their training. It was made from the super tough wood of the Japanese White Oak, a wood they called Kashi. The swords produced from this wood had the advantage of replicating the size, weight and feel of a steel sword, while minimizing the possibility of causing grievous or permanent injury to those who used it. Authentic Kashi wood Bokkens are still used today, but are becoming quite costly. They also have the disadvantages, being made of wood, that they may rot, crack split or splinter. Cold Steel's solution to these dilemmas was to design a synthetic substitute, low in price and impervious to the elements.

MAA Italian Long Sword by Cold Steel. The Man at Arms was a warrior, pure and simple. A stalwart and dependable fighter who exhibited great martial prowess with a range of weapons. He was a capable and competent warrior who was the veteran of many conflicts and was often first into the fray. Although he was not a Knight, he fought and trained alongside them as a brother in arms. To honor these rugged, reliable, salt-of-the-earth warriors we have created a range of true journeyman's weapons that we have called the Man at Arms Collection. Historically, the Long Sword featured a distinctive cruciform hilt and a long, double edged blade that was equally adept at opposing both light and heavily armored foes. Its extra-long blade offered the reach and leverage for powerful stabbing, cutting and chopping strokes while its long cross guard and heavy pommel were useful for hooking, striking and smashing. When heavy plate armor was encountered, strikes with the edge were often abandoned in favor of a “Half-Swording” technique; where one hand grips the hilt and the other the blade for grappling and in-fighting - to better direct the point in powerful jabs, and to accurately thrust at the small gaps and joints in a suit of armor. Cold Steel’s Italian Long Sword is designed so that the blade and balance slightly favor the thrust, while still being capable of delivering astonishingly effective cuts. It features a simple cruciform hilt, long upturned cross guard, leather-over-wood grip, and a heavy counter-balancing fish tail pommel. Scaled down in size but almost identical in appearance, our optional companion dagger is sharply tapered with a double edged blade.
