Leuku

Le leuku est un couteau traditionnel lapone (sami). Il est plus grand et plus large que le puukko finlandais, car il était historiquement utilisé pour les travaux domestiques dans la zone de la toundra. C'est pourquoi on l'appelle également un couteau de "camp" ou de "toundra". Une lame de leuku large a généralement une longueur de 20 à 40 cm avec une épaisseur de dos de 3 à 7 mm. La poignée des couteaux lapons est grande et large, afin de pouvoir être tenue confortablement avec des moufles ou des gants par temps froid.

Le leuku peut être utilisé comme couteau de plein air, de chasse ou de bushcraft. Avec son aide, vous pouvez découper de petits gibiers lors d'une chasse, préparer des branches pour un feu de camp lors d'une randonnée ou l'utiliser comme outil auxiliaire.

Les couteaux leuku sont fabriqués en acier au carbone et en acier inoxydable. Ce couteau est généralement équipé d'un fourreau en cuir ou en cuir et corne.
