The resulting colour contrast is reminiscent of the privation-laden expeditions of discovery in times long past. The satin-finished blade is made of ice-hardened N690 with 60 to 61 HRC, opened and unlocked with two hands by nail nick. It is equipped with a modern, elongated ricasso, the slipjoint's operating safety is increased by a 90° stop when opening and closing. The characteristic teardrop shape of the Barlow can be traced back to the English pocket knives of the 17th century, making it certainly one of the oldest models of all. The extremely slim extremely slim folder is a modern gentleman's knife with symmetrical lines. The narrow VG-10 sheepsfoot blade has a crowned spine and is secured with a new patented backlock based on a space-saving wire bracket. The lock doesn't need a top spring so that the blade has significantly more room in the handle. The contoured handle of titanium has carbon fiber inlays and forgoes the clip, which reduces the overall weight of the pocketknife. Instead, the Genios comes with a black leather sheath. The D2 blade has a fine lengthwise satinized finish with decorative filework on the spine that also serves as a thumb rest. Böker Plus Dog Tag is a small neck-folder by John Kubasek, who is already known to many as the designer of the successful Credit Card Knife. John Kubasek has now taken the "Backup Knife" topic one step further and presents the 24 gram light-weight Dog Tag Knife. Like its namesake, it is carried around the neck on a ball chain and boasts a thickness of less than 4 mm when retracted (measured without blade pivot point). The chisel grind (single-sided blade grind) provides maximum carrying and operating safety by contacting the titanium liner as closely as possible with the flat backside of the edge. A clever magnetic mechanism also secures the neck knife in the retracted and deployed state; in each case, the action is strictly accomplished with magnetic force, but with a true locking mechanism instead. As a result, accidental deployment is eliminated even when engaged in active/dynamic activities.
