Farfalli presents its latest and most innovative corkscrew model: VAJA. The VAJA corkscrew from Farfalli, with its olive wood handle, features a new patented uncorking system. A key innovation is the movement of the spiral, which is now attached to the handle by two pins rather than a single one. This mechanism allows the bottle to be uncorked in a single movement, automatically dividing it into two parts by the movement of the spiral, guided by two pins. During the first stage, the extraction facilitates the initial movement of the cork with minimal effort, and then lengthens the stroke in the second stage to complete the uncorking. This important feature allows for a perfectly vertical cork extraction. The VAJA corkscrew is the result of a significant collaboration with Mr. Claudio Burato and the Italian Sommelier Association of Veneto. The Vaja corkscrew became the official corkscrew of the 53rd AIS National Congress 2019. This model was presented at the event and began its history with an important solidarity initiative. The corkscrew takes its name from the storm that damaged the forests of the Veneto Dolomites in the fall of 2018 (Storm Vaja). Proceeds from sales of this innovative corkscrew at the AIS Veneto Congress went to support recovery efforts in the affected mountain areas. Innovative one-step uncorking system. This mechanism allows you to uncork a bottle in a single movement.
Since the 1950s, knives were produced in the company of Marino Farfalli in Maniago, Italy. In addition to pocket knives, which were very popular with tourists, Farfalli specialized also on corkscrews and noble sommelier knives during the years. Many innovations and new development made Farfalli famous in this range.
