Button Lock Knives

Button Lock knives are very popular worldwide due to their quick deployment and ease of use. As the name suggests, the Button Lock is based on a button mechanism to unlock the blade. A spring-loaded pin connected to the button secures the blade in the open position. To close the knife, simply press the button again. The main advantage of the Button Lock is one-handed operation. The knife can be opened and closed easily and very quickly, even in low visibility, adverse weather, or extreme conditions. The Button Lock design is reliable and durable.

Today, this lock can be found on both budget folding knives and premium models. Many modern brands use it for EDC knives. Most Button Lock knives also feature a secondary safety lock to prevent accidental pressing and blade deployment, for example, in a pocket. Like any spring mechanism, the Button Lock is sensitive to dirt and debris. We recommend periodically applying gun oil to maintain smooth operation. Note that in some countries, Button Lock knives are prohibited, so please check your local laws before purchase.

The Caimano Nero is a tactical knife delivered to the G.O.I., Gruppo Operativo Incursori (Operational Raiders Group) of the Italian Navy, and designed by Extrema Ratio, official COMSUBIN supplier. Its name is a reference and a tribute to the heroic Caimani Neri del Piave (Black Caimans of the Piave river), a unit of the Arditi della Regia Marina (Italian Royal Navy), who used to swim across the Piave river to carry out raids on enemy territory during the First World War. It is an automatic knife with a 4 mm asymmetrical spearpoint blade and a partial sharp false edge to improve the coefficient of penetration. The serrated part of the edge allow to cut highly-resistent cables and fabrics without losing its sharpening. It is a medium folder with a robust structure. It is light and balanced thanks to numerous removal processes applied to its highly-thick aluminum handle scales. The pommel, which recalls the shape of the tail/propel section of the Siluro a lenta corsa (S.L.C.), is designed to improve a rapid extraction of the knife from the pocket.
