Color-changing paracord, as well as fluorescent cord, are often used in tourism. The color-changing effect is created by a special weave and a combination of multi-colored threads in the braid. When the viewing angle or lighting changes, the cord visually "shimmers", simulating a change in shades. This is not a chemical reaction, but an optical illusion.
Fluorescent (or glow-in-the-dark) paracord contains luminescent pigments that accumulate light and then slowly release it in the dark, emitting a soft glow. Usually, one luminous thread is woven into the outer shell of the paracord, but sometimes the entire shell is made of fluorescent threads.
Both color-changing and glow-in-the-dark paracord are used to mark equipment and other items, to mark the perimeter, to make signal bracelets and other marks for quick identification. This paracord is widely used both in extreme situations and in urban conditions, in tourism and for making EDC accessories.
