Barlow-style knives trace their history back to English pocket knives from the 17th century. The name is likely linked to a Sheffield-based cutler named Barlow, who began exporting these knives to North America in the early 19th century. By the end of the 19th century, Barlow knives had also become part of the Boker product range. The Boker Barlow Prime 116943 is a modern interpretation of this classic model. Its handle is crafted from black Micarta. The blade, made of cryogenically hardened N690 steel, features a stonewash finish, a nail nick for opening, and an elongated swedge (false edge). The slipjoint mechanism includes a half-stop position at a 90-degree angle. The decorative pins are made of stainless steel. Each knife is handcrafted at the Boker manufactory in Solingen. The Boker Barlow Prime EDC Micarta weighs just 35 grams.
