Lynn C. Thompson's love of the Filipino Martial Arts inspired him to develop the Luzon Folders. The Luzon's blade is comprised of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, and expertly hardened to 57-58 Rockwell and feature sharp, strong, points with just enough belly to make them equally useful for cutting and slashing. This version 20NQX-BKBK has a black blade finish. Cold Steel Luzon Large Black weights about 265 g. Made of glass-filled nylon (GFN), the Luzon's handles are impervious to the elements, and are unlike any handle Cold Steel has ever made before. Knife has a pocket clip.

Cold Steel knives today are a symbol of quality and durability. Since 1980, Cold Steel has been making the toughest knives, folding knives, hatchets, swords and other outdoor products, as well as kitchen knives. Many Cold Steel knives, such as Recon 1, Espada, Ti-Lite, American Lawman and others, have become legends. Cold Steel was founded by Lynn Thompson in 1980 in the USA. Thompson is a martial artist, weapons researcher and knife designer who knows exactly what is needed from a knife in any given situation. The advantage of Cold Steel knives is that they are not afraid of the most severe tests and heavy tasks.
