The Cold Steel Luzon Large is inspired by traditional Filipino balisongs and designed by Lynn Thompson in collaboration with Mike Wallace. This version, featuring a black blade and a Dark Earth handle, offers the ultimate tactical look. The gigantic 152mm blade is crafted from time-tested 8Cr13MoV steel, characterized by excellent corrosion resistance, ease of sharpening, and excellent edge retention. The black coating not only eliminates unsightly glare but also serves as an additional protective layer. Despite its impressive size, the knife maintains a reasonable weight of approximately 265g thanks to the use of a modern GFN (glass-filled nylon) polymer in the handle construction. The handle texture mimics bamboo stalks. The knife opens incredibly quickly thanks to a built-in flipper and bearings in the pivot assembly. The Luzon Large is equally at home in demanding outdoor tasks and as a unique piece for a collection.
