Folding knife Böker M4 Sherman-Damascus 7.7cm 110662DAM
The extraordinary Boker M4 Sherman-Damascus folder is a piece of living history and combines high-quality craftsmanship with historical materials. The American M4 Sherman was already designed in 1940 and is still considered one of the most famous tanks in history. It was produced between 1942 and 1945, was in service until 1957 and was used on all battlefields of the Second World War.   The Boker Sherman-Damascus is equipped with a unique damascus blade, forged from different materials from the production of M4 Sherman tanks, which were previously restored by the museum. The unique damascus is forged by hand for us by Chad Nichols in the Customized Ladder pattern and is reminiscent of the tank tracks left in the ground by the heavy chains of the M4 Sherman. The ball bearing blade is opened by thumb stud and locked by a solid steel frame lock, a Hinderer Lock-Stop acts as overstretch protection for the lock. The overall shape of the knife is a tribute to the aesthetic lines of the armour, while the decorative blade axle screw is modelled on the characteristic main drive sprocket. The slightly contoured burlap micarta handle fits comfortably in the hand and the colour is reminiscent of the camouflage paint used by both the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps. Fixed blade Knife Böker Swiss Mosaic Damascus 21.9cm 121554DAM
The extraordinary Twisted Damascus is now followed by the Mosaic Damascus, which is also very complex to manufacture. It is one of the royal class of Damascus forging and makes the impressive dagger an absolute highlight in every knife collection. In contrast to conventional Damascus, no layers are produced in the manufacture of Mosaic Damascus. Instead, complex Damascus bars are forged by hand into a mosaic in an elaborate and very complicated process. To do this, the Damascus package, which initially consists of stacked layers, is cut up and reassembled in a staggered manner to create a unique mosaic pattern at the end faces of the bar. The Damascus is then cut up again and the complex process is repeated several times, the resulting pattern becoming finer and more unique with each step. Finally, the individual packages are stacked and forged in the shape of a square so that the ends of the individual pieces form a new surface. Forging temperature, forming, deformation rate and the previous steps must be optimally coordinated. This extremely demanding forging process, which only few Damascus smiths master, is carried out to perfection for our Swiss dagger by Chad Nichols. The dagger blade, sharpened and pointed on both sides, already had a diamond-shaped cross-section in historical models, because this construction proved to be extremely stable and effective. Characteristic of the Swiss Dagger is the design of the pommel and the crossguard. The unusual, curved design can be traced back to the early 13th century and can also be found in the authentic design of our hand-made edition. The shimmering dark handle made of hand-picked certified imported Ebony is bordered by the highly polished pommel and the crossguard and forms a perfect unit with the fine blade. The leather sheath, specially designed and handsewn for this model, underlines the exclusivity of this coveted collector‘s item. It is delivered with an individual serial number in a noble wooden box and with a certificate of authenticity. Handmade in the Boker Knife Manufactory Solingen and strictly limited to 500 pieces worldwide.

Folding knife Böker Sherman EDC 7.5cm 110665
For the Böker Sherman EDC 110665 blade, Magnacut was used for the first time, which is not without reason glorified as “wonder steel”. Unlike the tool steels usually used, this steel was developed specifically for knife making. The three desirable properties of a steel - edge retention, toughness and rust resistance (stainless in the DIN category) - represent a conflict of goals. To make the steel rust-resistant, the addition of chromium is necessary, which makes the structure coarse, brittle and susceptible to fracture under normal conditions. High hardness, which has a positive influence on cutting durability, is usually achieved at the expense of toughness. With Magnacut, despite the high chromium content of 10.7% and an impressive hardenability of over 62HRC, it has been possible to achieve a very fine microstructure and thus high toughness and shock-load tolerance. The addition of nitrogen plays a central role here. Nitrogen is actually a steel pest in the alloy. However, due to sophisticated heat treatment, among other things, the nitrogen of the Magnacut is integrated into the crystalline lattice structure of the steel structure and thus achieves the otherwise contradictory material properties.
The central structural difference to the M4 Damascus model is the flipper, elegantly integrated into the contours, which allows the blade to slide open smoothly with a small impulse and invites you to play. The ball-bearing blade is opened alternatively by thumb stud and locked by a sturdy titanium framelock with stonewash finish. An overdrive stop acts as an over-extension protection for the lock. The milled titanium clip (tip-up/r) with a steel ball as well as the handle scales made of wild carbon fibre complete the harmonious overall picture.
A special highlight of the Boker Sherman EDC is the protruding backspacer made of Damascus, which is equipped with a lanyard hole in elongated slotted design. The Damascus of the backspacer was forged from various materials from the production of M4 Sherman tanks by Chad Nichols in the Customized Ladder pattern and is reminiscent of the tank tracks left in the ground by the heavy chains of the M4 Sherman.

The oldest German knife company Böker was founded in the 17th century (Remscheid). Today Böker produces one of the world's best folding knives, outdoor knives, tactical knives and hunting knives. Like the vast majority of late medieval businesses, Böker was a family business founded by the head of the family. The workshop, and a little later a small factory for the production of high-quality blades, was located in the most beautiful corner of Germany - a grove of spreading chestnut trees. This powerful tree became the symbol of the famous German company.

Not all Böker knives are producing in Solingen, Germany. Now the part of the legendary German manufacturer’s capacity has been transferred to Taiwan and China in order to optimize production costs (Böker Plus and Böker Magnum). All Böker factories are equipped with the most advanced equipment, and quality control of manufactured products is carried out centrally and very scrupulously.

In our shop you can find almost whole range of Böker knives. Some models are available for pre-order. We can not permanently keep at warehouse whole range of Böker knives, but have right to represent their whole range and accept pre-orders, since we get from them goods weekly. 'If the product page doesn't have "In Stock", the "Add to Cart" button is yellow, and the button says "Shipping after 15-20 working days" - this means that the product is available on pre-order. We order the goods in the Böker manufacturer's warehouse and send it to you as soon as we receive it from the manufacturer.

MyGoodKnife is the official distributor of Böker.
