Extrema Ratio T-Razor folder with satin blade. Up to the early 1900s, people commonly carried pocket utility knives. Due to rampant “misuse”, though, laws were passed to the effect that all such knives were to be clipped at the blade-tip, in order to diminish their dangerousness as weapons. Some people then figured they’d get the greatest effectiveness out of the sharp edge of a traditionally flat-point blade shape, and took to carrying straight-razors. Thus, the straight-razor was for a time regarded as a fearsome weapon of self-defense. Such a “misuse” of the common straight-razor inspired our T-RAZOR design. The “Arditi Distruttori della Regia Aeronautica” (lit. royal air force brave destroyers) were an Italian battalion serving in the North African theater during WW2, and awarded two silver medals of honor. They were tasked with complex sabotage operations against enemy airfields, which they accomplished employing then unprecedented guerrilla tactics. Now the 17° Stormo Incursori (17th Raiders Wing) of the Italian Air Force picks up their glorious heritage as a special force. As a tangible token of continuity, members of the 17th line up and parade carrying combat daggers at their belts, as the Arditi used to carry. This ADRA dagger, with its classic European shape, was designed for and with strong input from the commanders and operatives of the 17th. Thus begins its road of honor and duty. With an overall length of 5.7” (165 mm) and a weight of just  52 g the Extrema Ratio BDØ R is an extremely light and slim knife which makes it an ideal EDC choice. It is characterized by a very slim profile with a focus on lightness. The blade is made in Bohler N690 steel hardened to 58 HRC, 2.36” (60mm) long, 0.1” (2.5 mm) thick, with a plain sharpening and a faux edge on the first third of the spine. SILENTE was submitted to the Unit, the Authorities, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Chief of the State Police during the ceremony celebrating the N.O.C.S. 40th Anniversary. SILENTE is unique in its kind and it performs unique needs: the handle is crafted in two parts and it works also as the grip of a clamp placed at the end of the handle itself. Besides taking hold of everything that has the appropriate dimensions, the clamp can be used to cut wire-fences, wire-rods, steel cables, etc. and it can be used as a glass breaker thanks to the tungsten carbide insert placed at its end. The sheath protects the cutting part while using the clamp in safety, but it can also release the blade with a retention system that can be activated quickly and silently.
