Bohler N690 steel is a corrosion-resistant steel alloyed with cobalt. The steel producer is the Austrian metallurgical concern Bohler-Uddeholm AG. Steel N690 can be hardened to 60-62 RHC. Bohler N690 steel knives do not rust for a long time and remain resistant to various loads, which is especially important for tactical knives and survival knives. Therefore, such manufacturers as Extrema Ratio, Boker and others make knives from Bohler N690 steel. Bohler N690 steel knives are easy to sharpen.

The black versions are very popular, not just for military operations, but also due to the special charisma of such dagger and the added corrosion protection provided by the coating. So it was basically our duty to add such a variant of the A-F 4.5 and A-F 5.5 models. Hardly any other knifemaker has influenced the field of tactical knives as much as William H. "Bill" Harsey, his designs have earned him an excellent reputation in the knife world. His modification of the legendary Boker Applegate-Fairbairn combines the knife used by many elite units with modern elements. The larger blade width and the more favorable geometry of the double edged N690 blade with black PVD coating improve the cutting properties, while the blade length offers an optimum compromise between guidance and utility value. The tang reaches out of the end of the handle and it can be used as a windowbreaker. The CNC-milled handle scales made of black Micarta are extremely durable, pleasantly structured and offer excellent grip even when wet. Delivery includes high-quality black nylon scabbard by SpecOps.

The Rangebuster Black Copper 112914 is a traditional pocket knife that was developed as early as the 18th century in the USA for use in agriculture. The light and comparatively simple knife is reminiscent of the Solingen Hippekniep, but here it is equipped with a reliable backlock. The droppoint blade made of ice-hardened N690 with 60 to 61 HRC is flat-ground and is opened with the help of the traditionally serrated nail nick. The handle material is black canvas micarta, the decorative studs are made of copper and provide a colourful accent. Thanks to the contoured handle scales and the slim, lightweight construction, the Boker Rangebuster is extremely comfortable in the hand and thus manages the transformation from a working to a gentleman's knife. An innovative supplementary screw can be unlocked to enable fine-tuning of the main screw, adjusting opening speed to taste. Hemispheric milling marks on handles make it easier to change from saber-style to reverse grip. Clips are reversible. Model MF0 is “the little one” amongst MF knives – basically a compact version of the MF1. It retains all the characteristics of MF1 but has a downsized handle and shortened blade, similar to our SHRAPNEL “back-up” knife.

Extrema Ratio MK2.1 is a re-issue of the Mark 2 combat dagger, one of the most common knives during World War II. The aim was to preserve the characteristic properties of the original, making only those changes that would increase its effectiveness. The blade is made of Böhler N690 cobalt steel, the rest of the parts are made of AISI 303 and AISI 304, and the handle uses fiberglass-reinforced nylon instead of leather. The MK2.1 retains the ergonomics of the original Mark 2, while all of the frame parts have been enlarged to provide a robust, high-performance multi-tool. The most significant changes are aimed at eliminating the known "weak points" of the original knife: the ability to disassemble in the field without the tools, a straightened modified Bowie profile, which makes it easier to maintain the edge, and recesses on the handle that help to correctly orient the blade in the dark and increase the grip during rotational movements. Lanyard hole and front guard holes have also been added. The kit includes a standard hip-mount sheath.
