Extrema Ratio Pocket Knives

Extrema Ratio folding knives combine military durability and simple civilian functionality. Initially, the brand, founded in 1997 in Italy, developed knives for special forces. Almost all Extrema Ratio folding knives are made using high-quality Böhler N690 steel and anodized aluminum. Some models use M390 steel. Among the popular series of folding knives are:

- BF (Basic Folder): Compact and lightweight knives such as BF1 and BF2 are ideal for everyday use.

- BD2 and BD4 are tactical folding knives with a double guard. Contractor versions are equipped with double-edged blades.

- MF (Medium Folder): Models MF1 and MF2 are designed for tactical tasks and can replace a knife with a fixed blade in functionality. Equipped with a glass breaker and a reversible clip.

- MF1 Evo — an updated series with an improved Hidden Lock and blades made of M390/N690 steel.

- Ant — compact EDC knives with a 5 cm blade, popular for everyday carry.

- RAO - Powerful knives with a unique locking system, designed for heavy tactical tasks.

Many series of Extrema Ratio folding knives feature special rescue versions designed for use in extreme conditions. All knives are equipped with pocket clips that can be rearranged to a convenient side. Most series feature knives with Spear Point, Drop point and Sheepfoot profiles. Extrema Ratio T911 folder is a light, medium sized folding knife, designed for professional use by military operators. It features a Bohler N690 cobalt steel modified spearpoint blade heat treated to 58 HRC for best compromise between toughness, ease of sharpening and edge retention.
The blade is 76 mm (3”) long and 4 mm (0.16”) thick, with a stone washed finish and flat edge, and rotates around a pin that can be adjusted for tension, allowing the user to achieve the desired smoothness while deploying the blade. Once adjusted, a secondary screw locks the pin in position.
The handle is hard anodized Anticorodal aluminum alloy, with a black finish, shaped for ease of transition between reverse and saber grip. The blade deploys from the folded position by the usual thumb stud and is secured by a liner lock with an additional safety system to insure maximum reliability under hard use. The safety lever is red colored for better visibility and engages the safety in its forward position for a more instinctive use.
The handle has an integrated belt cutter with easily available industrial grade cutter blades, tungsten carbide glass breaker, a stainless-steel folding marlin-spike and a flat screwdriver in AISI 420 steel, meant to help in rifle scope adjustment. A clip is fixed at the end of the handle, allowing for a deep, concealed carry position with very little of the knife exposed. The clip can be reversed from left to right side. Overall 194 mm. Weight 145 g. Made in Italy.

Extrema Ratio BD1 R is a knife designed for lightness. It is characterized by a very slim profile with a focus on lightness, without renouncing the usual Extrema Ratio toughness and reliability, also thanks to the black anodized, Anticorodal grip. The modified spearpoint, satin blade is made in Bohler N690 steel hardened to 58 HRC, 2.75” (70mm) long, 0.1” (2.5 mm) thick, with a plain sharpening and a faux edge on the first third of the spine. The blade is deployed by the usual “Razor” tang extension which enables effortless ambidextrous operation. A simple yet sturdy liner lock system holds the blade open. The reversible clip with lightening holes contributes to maintain the weight of the knife to a minimum. Scallops milled in the handle help to guarantee a solid grip on the knife and facilitate grip transitions. With an overall length of 6.7” (170 mm) and a weight of just 2.7 oz (75 g) the Extrema Ratio BD1 R is an extremely light and slim knife which makes it an ideal EDC choice.

Extrema Ratio Resolza 10 is a folding knife with stonewashed blade that pays homage to centuries of tradition of Italia. The traditional Sardinian resolza is one of the most famous Italian knives. So far it is a constant companion of island farmers and shepherds in their daily work. The knife accompanied them even when people were called to war: during the World War I in the chronicles of Sassari the knife is mentioned as part of equipment of soldiers. Resolza 10 is an attempt to redefine the traditional silhouette in accordance with the modern Extrema Ratio standards, so as not to overlook the Sardinian craftsmen, who still preserve ancient traditions and practice ingrained knife-making techniques. Resolza 10 retains its original dimensions and proportions, but is manufactured using modern company technologies and high quality materials. The handle has been redesigned, and the blade is more closely approximated to the traditional shape.

This new folding knife comes out from a cooperation and planning phase with G.I.G.N. (special unit of the French national Gendarmerie). To maximize penetration, a special blade tip has been developed. On the back side of the handle it has a special tool to cut plastic handcuffs. It comes with a rear glass breaker, reversible clip and safety lock. The sheath has a hard ABS structure on a cordura basis and it has several possible ways of fixing: MOLLE system for tactical jackets, belt fixing and side fixing.
