You quickly open the Ontario Knives Shikra with the flipper. You do so with one hand, to make sure you can always reach your knife. Even when you only have one hand free. When opened the blade is locked by a framelock. Titanium framelocks sometimes tend to move a bit stiffly for a long time. That is why Ontario enhanced the lockbar with a steel insert. Great because it means the lock will last even longer. Great! The presentation side of the handle is made from micarta. A light-weight composite material made from canvas and synthetic resin. Offers enough grip and is also strong. In addition, it feels great in hand. The lockside is made from titanium.
