Its elegantly curved handle is crafted with full, skeletonized stainless steel liners and carbon fiber/G10 laminate scales. In the closed position, the handle's slim, open-backed profile completely contains the knife's blade—except for a small textured section of the tang that serves as a flipper opener. With a stroke of an index finger or thumb, the full-flat-ground CPM-S30V stainless steel 3.26" blade opens and locks securely via Spyderco's patented Compression Lock mechanism. The Kapara C241CFP is Spyderco's first collaboration with Australian custom knifemaker Alistair Phillips. The design is based on Phillips' popular Redback folder and, like the term "redback," draws its name from the redback spider (Latrodectus hasseltii), a species of highly venomous spider found throughout Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. The adult female redback has a spherical black body with a prominent red stripe on the upper side of her abdomen. Inspired by this distinctive feature, Phillips' handmade Redback folders showcase a contrasting red backspacer in the handle.
The heart of the Kapara's design is its CPM S30V stainless steel 3.60" blade, which is full-flat ground for truly impressive low-friction edge geometry. Its fully accessible Trademark Round Hole allows convenient one-handed opening with either hand and its drop-point profile gives it both a long, gently curved edge and an acute, utilitarian point.
The handle of the Kapara features full, skeletonized stainless steel liners that form the foundation of its high-strength Compression Lock mechanism. The liners are capped by stunning solid carbon fiber scales that are meticulously 3D machined to give them a subtle radius. 
For ease and convenience of carry, the Kapara includes a reversible deep-pocket wire clip that can be configured for left or right-side, tip-up carry. A generously sized lanyard hole also allows the easy attachment of fobs or lanyards. Closed Length: 4.65". Overall Length: 8.25". Weight: 3.4 oz.

Spyderco Tropen folder C237GP is designed by Javier Vogt, who is is one of the few custom knifemakers in Argentina and one of only a handful of craftsmen there to make folding knives. Javier Vogt now specializes in handcrafting intricate, artistic folding knife designs and often incorporates exotic materials into his work.
The most distinctive feature of the Tropen is its broad, dramatically curved blade 4.02". Precision machined from CPM S30V stainless steel, it includes three different blade-opening options—an index-finger flipper, Spyderco's Trademark Round Hole, and a stylized Emerson Opening Feature, which hooks on the lip of the pocket as the knife is drawn to automatically open it. Together, these features allow a full scope of one-handed opening techniques and are further enhanced by special ball-bearing washers on each side of the blade's pivot that ensure an ultra-smooth, low-friction action.
The Tropen's satin-finished PlainEdge blade is paired with an elegantly styled handle crafted with G10 scales, a partial G10 backspacer, and skeletonized stainless steel liners. The polished scales are gently radiused for a comfortable grip and their interiors precision machined to house the nested liners, which form the foundation of the knife's high-strength Compression Lock mechanism. This advanced construction style ensures impressive structural strength while keeping the knife exceptionally thin, lightweight, and pocket-friendly. To allow instant access and support the proper function of the blade's Emerson Opening Feature, the Tropen includes a stainless steel hourglass clip configured for right-side, tip-up carry.
