Boker Barlow Prime Expedition gentleman folder, which has significantly shorter bolsters, is equipped in this version with contoured handle scales in olive green Canvas Micarta, while bolster and liners are made of matt blasted brass. The resulting colour contrast is reminiscent of the privation-laden expeditions of discovery in times long past. The satin-finished blade is made of ice-hardened N690 with 60 to 61 HRC, opened and unlocked with two hands by nail nick. It is equipped with a modern, elongated ricasso, the slipjoint's operating safety is increased by a 90° stop when opening and closing. The characteristic teardrop shape of the Barlow can be traced back to the English pocket knives of the 17th century, making it certainly one of the oldest models of all. As a lightweight slipjoint pocket knife it is up to any task in everyday use. It is equipped with a stonewash blade made of Böhler powder metallurgical M390, which is equipped with a generous ricasso and a 90° stop. The modern high-performance steel with the highest wear resistance is ice-hardened to 61 HRC. The decorative brass rivets form a colourful contrast to the three-dimensionally milled and pleasantly contoured handle scales made of brown burlap micarta. The hollow ground blade made of stainless N690 is forged by Böhler and contributes with its memorable shape to the incomparable appearance of the Scout. The typical teardrop shape of the Böker Barlow Prime Maserbirke 111942 goes back to 17th-century English pocketknives, which certainly makes it one of the world's oldest knife models. By the end of the 19th century, the first Barlow models appeared in the history of the Böker Manufactory.
This model is a new interpretation of old versions with shorter bolsters and a blade of nitrogen-alloyed N690. It has a modern elongated ricasso and a slipjoint made more secure with a 90-degree lock-in when opening or closing. The bolsters and tang are made from stainless steel, while the handle scales consist of stabilized wood of the Scandinavian curly birch. Weight is 55 g.
