The Japanese Sakai Takayuki Gyuuto Kengata knife features a 190mm blade. The high-quality VG10 steel blade boasts exceptional hardness, excellent corrosion resistance, and long-lasting sharpening. The knife's distinctive feature is its Kengata Gyuto shape, which combines the versatility of a classic gyuto with a sharp K-tip. Thus, this knife resembles a bunka, but with a longer blade. The Japanese-style "wa" handle is made of durable ABS plastic in a pearl-gold color, adding elegance to the knife and allowing it to blend harmoniously into any interior. Crafted with respect for Japanese aesthetics, it is free from the disadvantages of wood: it is moisture-resistant, does not crack, and is easy to clean.

Sakai Takayuki knives are made in Sakai (Osaka Prefecture, Japan), one of the world's most renowned centers for the production of blades and cutlery. Sakai Takayuki knives are produced by the Japanese company Aoki Hamono Seisakusho Co., founded in 1942. The company's owner, Ichiro Aoki, began selling Sakai knives, personally visiting stores to demonstrate their superior quality. The brand was officially registered in 1964, and the name "Takayuki" was given in honor of the founder's eldest son.
Today, Sakai Takayuki produces high-quality kitchen knives, crafted entirely by hand by artisans, drawing on over 600 years of Japanese swordsmithing experience. The Sakai-based company is proud to continue crafting knives using the same ancient techniques. Aogami Super (Blue Super), Shirogami #2 (White #2), Ginsan (Silver 3), and VG10 steels are used for production. Many Japanese Sakai Takayuki knives feature a multi-layer Damascus structure.
