Lynn C. Thompson Signature Knife - The Oyabun Limited is a high-end collectible version of our Oyabun. It shares features in common with the standard model in terms of functionality and appearance but differs markedly in the materials used in its construction. It also has the value of being a collectible keepsake in that only 3500 have been produced. Each is individually serial numbered, and each box will be personally signed by Lynn C. Thompson himself! The premium S35VN steel in the blade is a costly powdered steel that is heat treated to Rc 59-60 and sub zero quenched. It has been given an attractive two-tone line grain finish on the blade flats, and a high satin polish on the blade bevels. Most noticeably, the handle frame is milled from two solid billets of 6061 aluminum to create the bolster and pommel, which have been given a fine mirror polished finish. The handle also features CNC machined G-10 slabs with a diamond checkering pattern for a good secure grip.

The pattern "Great Pyramids", with more than 300 layers, adorns the mighty 4" blade and makes this piece the highlight of any collection. The combination of the Tirpitz steel and carbon tool steels also creates an extremely rugged Damascus steel which has a hardness of 61 to 63 HRC and can handle any cutting task with ease.The handle, made of high strength AlMgSi1 aluminum (with Silicium, making it a much higher quality than standard AlMg3), is hardcoat anodized and provides a firm and secure grip. For the handle was chosed domestic walnut, which has a long history as shaft wood for German rifles due to its superior characteristics. This eye-catching inlay also features the original Tirpitz crest. This knife combines history, tradition and modern technology in a more than unique way. Norwegian divers retrieved parts of the armoring of the Tirpitz just for Böker.
