The Rough Ryder Knives got their name from a group of men who volunteered to follow Theodore Roosevelt. In 1898, 23,000 people volunteered to go with Teddy, but he personally selected only 2,000. The men were from all over the country. They were Princeton footballers, purebred Pawnee Indians, seasoned cowboys, aristocratic Englishmen, polo players, and even Rhodes Fellows. They were representatives of every state and social class. These people have become one of the best fighting forces in history. Rough Ryder Knives continue to select the finest materials from every corner of the world to create the finest knives.
